Driver Retires After 47 Years

New Orleans, Louisiana (NOL) Line Driver Stephen Bonnecaze is retiring after a remarkable 47 years of service with the company! He was honored in November by employees, as well as his wife and two daughters, at the terminal.

“Steve was dedicated, hardworking, a part of the NOL family, and loved Saia!” said NOL Terminal Manager Henry Battaglia.

We know all who worked with him over the years will greatly miss him! Steve, thank you for your years of service to Saia. What a tremendous career! We wish you a very long and happy retirement – it is much deserved!

DLS Employees Donate to Irving Cares

Recently, employees at our Dallas, Texas (DLS) terminal collected just under 500 pounds of food for Irving Cares, a local nonprofit that “provides focused assistance for Irving residents to address a financial crisis.” DLS Terminal Manager Ken Erikson said the organization was very thankful for the donation. DLS Terminal Training Supervisor Lyndsey Hill and DLS Administrative Assistant Christine Joplin spearheaded the drive on behalf of the facility.

Saia Delivers in Miami

Recently, Director of Linehaul Jeff Owen said his son snapped this picture of a Saia delivery in the Miami, Florida area. His timing was terrific as the lit trees framed the logo perfectly!

New Edition of Amplify

Be on the lookout for our next issue of Amplify, which will be delivered to the doorsteps of every Saia employee very soon! Just like our inaugural issue, it will be filled with interesting news and articles on terminals and personnel as well as a few holiday surprises!

Saia Named Johnson Controls’ National Carrier of the Year

Saia LTL Freight has been honored by Johnson Controls as the company’s “National LTL Carrier of the Year,” based on several key performance indicators including claims ratio, cost reduction initiatives, sustainability and more.

Johnson Controls is a global leader, offering “the world’s largest portfolio of building products, technologies, software, and services” designed to “transform the environments where people live, work, learn and play.”

They nominated Saia for the “National LTL Carrier of the Year” award due to the exceptional service we provided in extremely difficult market conditions as well as our capability of excelling in several core competencies.

"We are very excited to be recognized with this award," said Saia Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer Ray Ramu. “While this honor confirms the dependable service we provide all our customers every day, this year, more than ever, our employees have worked to overcome a myriad of challenges to make sure we meet our customers’ supply chain needs."
