Around Saia
In this month's Around Saia, two of Saia's veteran employees retire: HGO's Cindi Dupree and OMA's Ken Belt. Also featured is Saia's participation in the "Crowning Courage — True Generosity Lives Here" event, where companies donate tickets so military personnel can attend sporting events.
HGO Employee Retires
After 22 years of employment, HGO 401(k) Specialist Cindi Dupre retired in January. According to Kristy Roger, Saia's benefits manager, Cindi was an outstanding member of the Human Resources Benefits team - someone who should be celebrated for her talent, dedication and teamwork.
"She spent countless hours providing superb retirement consultations and demonstrated discreet, confidential judgment on disability and life claims," said Kristy. "Cindi never met a stranger she couldn’t assist. Her kindness, knowledge and sound judgment can be witnessed by anyone that crosses her path."
Away from work, Cindi enjoys spending time with her husband, Lionel, along with their children and grandchildren. And, when she is not baking delicious treats, she is busy the yearlong planning for her favorite season, Christmas.
"We imagine that her future will be filled with fishing trips!" exclaimed Kristy.
Crowning Courage
Saia recently participated in "Crowning Courage — True Generosity Lives Here," an event where companies or individuals donate tickets to sporting events, in this instance an Atlanta Hawks game, to deserving military personnel and veterans. During the event, not only did the men get to enjoy the game, they were invited to a special pre-game brunch and party.
Sergeant First Class Patrick Wilson, left, and Major Rick Galeano were able to attend the game/event because of Saia's donation. Both are still active duty members of the military. Each said that it was "amazing" to attend the game and they were very thankful for the opportunity.
OMA Line Driver Retires
OMA Line Driver Ken Belt recently retired after 19 years of service! Ken, we wish you a long and wonderful retirement!
