Saia donates toys to Toys for Tots
Once again Saia has participated with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve outreach program in the Toys for Tots 2016 campaign. View our offices, terminals, and employees who helped and see some of this year's donations.
Since 2014, Saia has partnered with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve outreach program, Toys for Tots, to make the holiday season better for as many children as possible. Last November, Saia continued the annual toy drive by placing bins in all of its terminals and offices throughout the country, and began its request for donations.
In three years as a foundational partner, Saia and its employees have helped bring in more than 12,000 toys, nearly 4000 this year alone. These toys have been distributed to children residing throughout the 150 communities where Saia operates offices and terminals.
In addition to improving upon the already phenomenal number of donations made by Saia team members over the past two years, Saia donated $25,000 in 2016 to support the charity’s mission of providing toys to economically disadvantaged children across the United States—bringing the total to $75,000 over three years.
The Toys for Tots charitable operation was chosen by Saia based on its inclusiveness and overwhelming support by employees nationwide. The decision to partner with the charity also hits close to home. As an Atlanta, GA-based company, Saia saw an opportunity to help the city, which happens to have the most critical need for donations.
