Around Saia
This month's Around Saia features the retirement of TUL Terminal Manager David Baldridge. Also included is a story on Saia winning the 2019 National LTL Carrier of the Year by Mainfreight and a story on Saia's Jonesboro and Fort Smith, Arkansas terminals achieving safety milestones.
Terminal Manager Retires
In August, TUL Terminal Manager David Baldridge retired after 38 years with the company. A surprise party was held in his honor with a host of employees joining in to celebrate his career and well-deserved retirement! Congratulations David! You will be missed. We hope you enjoy many happy years!
Saia Wins Award Carrier of the Year
Saia was recently named the 2019 National LTL Carrier of the Year by Mainfreight, a company providing global supply chain support and logistics services. They operate through 214 branch locations in New Zealand, Australia, the Netherlands, Europe, Russia, China and Southeast Asia, Singapore, Chile, Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Terminals Achieve Safety Milestones
Both our Jonesboro and Fort Smith, Arkansas terminals have achieved safety milestones. Back in June, the JON terminal reached 785 days without a lost-time injury. Since then, JON Terminal Manager Dale Lipford reported they have achieved 883 days and are still rolling as “no lost-time injury in JON is no accident!” Additionally, the FTS terminal marked 365 days in August without an injury as well. As we all know, this takes process adherence, communication, leadership, a team effort, and more! Congratulations to all the employees at both these great facilities for their dedication to safety!
