John,
I hope this letter finds you well. Dayton, Ohio (DAY) Line Driver Christopher Walkup went above and beyond recently.
He returned from his extra run this weekend and saw there were trailers in Cincinnati that were ready to move to DAY, but no one was assigned to them. He called our terminal manager, who was at the Dayton Air Show, who proceeded to leave, went home, and closed them so he could bring the trailers back. He not only took the time to make management aware of the freight that could be moved, but he became the solution to make it happen.
Once he got back with the freight, he noticed there wasn’t a place to park one of the trailers at the dock. Knowing the challenges we face moving equipment, he then decided to strip out the trailer to the dock so the freight was ready for city operations.
He was faced with obstacles and his only concern was that DAY got the freight back and that it was able to be routed. He completed his mission after many hurdles along the way.
It is heartfelt to see a fellow coworker care about all of our jobs, ensuring we all have work to do, as well as his concern for our customers. The character he showed to fulfill his mission was inspiring. I can’t find the words to express the surprise of not only his integrity to complete the task, but the drive to make us better. I am proud of our DAY team and Mr. Walkup.
Thanks again,
Sarah Kenney

Good Afternoon Joshua!
A consignee, Anthony Brinson, of Joplin, Missouri recently called in to give kudos to Springfield, Missouri (SPF) City Driver Steven Burk. He stated he has worked in trucking for over 25 years and Steven was phenomenal. He said he was very helpful, polite, and pleasant to work with!
