Around Saia

This month, we spotlight a food drive and the retirement of several long-time team members.

Employees Collect Food for Annual Food Drive

Saia employees at the both the Boise, Idaho (BOI) terminal and Boise General Office (BGO) collected 460 pounds of food that they donated to Boise Rescue Mission Ministries (BRMM) during the charity’s 13th Annual March to End Hunger Community Food Drive and Can Castle Competition.

BRMM is the largest provider of homeless services in the state of Idaho. Since 1958, they have been on the forefront of serving homeless and hungry people; providing food, shelter, clothing, counseling, accountability, and education for men, women, and children in need. Additionally, their programs for addiction, mental health issues, and job preparedness give people the opportunity to overcome homelessness and become contributing members of the community again. In 2023, BRMM served 215,627 meals to hungry and homeless men, women, and children in their community and provided more than 100,000 overnight stays to people across the Treasure Valley.

Congrats BOI and BGO! We love to hear and see how our team members support their local communities!
