Company Update

This month, we spotlight several employee promotions and new hires around the company.

Badry Promoted to COS Terminal Manager

Jonathan Badry was named our new Colorado Springs, Colorado (COS) terminal manager in January.

Jonathan joined Saia in 2013 and has served in various operational roles at terminals across our network. Most recently, he had been serving as the COS operations manager.

Christofferson Joins Saia as a Regional HR Manager

Steven Christofferson joined Saia in January as a regional HR manager (RHRM) strategically based out of our Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (OKC) terminal to provide a central hub of HR support to the Dallas (DLS) Region.

In this role, Steven will serve as an HR partner to our DLS Regional Manager Mike Whitwell and his leadership team. In partnership with DLS-based RHRM, Kevin Hamilton, Steven will provide HR guidance, strategic and tactical support, and contribute to our overall business success.

Steven has 18 years of HR and operations experience and specializes in recruiting, training, volunteer and community partnerships, and building positive employee engagement. He holds an undergraduate degree from Indiana State University and a master’s degree from Webster University.

SXF Terminal Manager Named

Robert Bergstrom has been named our new Sioux Falls, South Dakota (SXF) terminal manager.

With 12 years of professional experience, Robert has an extensive background in logistics and distribution. Starting as a dock/warehouse worker, he has held various roles of increasing responsibility, working his way up into senior management positions across different organizations. He possesses both a bachelor's degree in education and human development and a master’s degree in organizational development from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Ulrich Promoted to Regional Manager

On March 1, Mike Ulrich was promoted to Newburgh, New York (NWB) regional manager. This structural change allowed us to more effectively support our business growth by providing enhanced service to our customers as well as more focus on developing leaders in this thriving region.

In this role, Mike will provide coaching and leadership to ensure every teammate in this region has the best employee experience possible, and that we continue to meet and exceed our business objectives.

Mike has almost three decades of terminal leadership experience in the industry, including most recently serving as the manager for our Atlanta terminal. Prior to entering the logistics field, he served in the U.S. Air Force.

Van Buren Named MED Terminal Manager

This February, John Van Buren was named the Medford, Oregon (MED) terminal manager. While new to Saia, John has 35 years of experience in the transportation industry, having served as a dock supervisor and operations manager. He is an alumnus of Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon.
