Company Update
This month, we are highlighting several new employees including our new senior communications business partner, several new regional HR managers, terminal managers, and more.
Archer Named Senior Communications Business Partner
LaShaya Archer was named our senior communications business partner in April. She is based out of the Atlanta Corporate Office (ACO), where she will provide strategic communication leadership supporting our Human Resources (HR) Department.
In this new role, LaShaya will serve as the primary communications advisor to Executive Vice President and CHRO Tony Norwood and the HR leadership team. She will guide and implement HR communications to enhance Saia’s employee experience and employer brand. This will include developing and executing communications strategies, plans, and messages for various HR initiatives; changes or enhancements to employee benefits and compensation; talent and performance management; wellness campaigns, learning and leadership development; diversity, equity, and inclusion; employee engagement; and general employee communications.
LaShaya will also act as a proactive stakeholder assisting with planning and change management, executive visibility and external thought leadership and executive communications. She is a dynamic professional with extensive communications experience. Most recently, she was the global learning and development senior communications manager for the Boston Consulting Group. There, she devised strategic communication roadmaps to drive large-scale transformations, fostering cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement. LaShaya excelled in crafting employee-centric narratives that resonated with diverse audiences, contributing to the firm's strategic vision for innovation.
Prior to this, she worked at Nationwide for 13 years in communications roles of increasing scope and responsibility. In addition, her active involvement in initiatives such as the Social Justice Committee and mentoring programs reflects her commitment to social impact and community engagement. LaShaya possesses both a bachelor’s degree in HR management and a master's degree in marketing and communications from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio.
ATL Regional HR Manager Chosen
Kenton Tucker joined Valerie Powell as our newest regional HR manager supporting the Atlanta (ATL) Region. In this role, Ken will partner with Tony Widener, our ATL regional manager, along with ATL Region terminal leadership, to continue building our strong company culture. He will be based at the Jacksonville, Florida (JAX) terminal and will report directly to me.
Ken brings over 10 years of HR expertise to Saia. He has a diverse professional background including experience in healthcare, construction, and supply chain. He possesses an associate’s degree in business operations and is currently completing his bachelor’s degree in HR from Grand Canyon University.
Casados Named KCY Regional HR Manager
Alisha Casados joined the Saia team this March as a regional HR manager, strategically based out of our Denver, Colorado (DEN) terminal to provide a central hub of HR support to the Kansa City (KCY) Region.
In this role, Alisha will serve as an HR partner to KCY Regional Manager Phil Garrett and his leadership team. She will provide HR guidance, strategic and tactical support, and contribute to overall business success. She will support employee relations; turnover reduction; leader development; diversity, equity, and inclusion; change management; effective and efficient hiring; employee engagement; and continuous improvement of the overall employee experience.
Alisha brings a wealth of HR experience from the construction industry where she served as a subject matter expert in the areas of recruiting, employee development, performance management, compensation, benefits, policies and procedure, and regulatory compliance. She is passionate about fostering positive workplace cultures and driving organizational success through strategic HR initiatives. Alisha holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with dual emphases in HR and operations management.
Doerr Named New KCY Regional Sales Manager
Andrea Doerr has joined Saia as our new Kansas City (KCY) regional sales manager. Andrea brings a wealth of industry experience to this role, having worked across various transportation sectors, including truckload, LTL, small package, and international services. With over 20 years of experience in the transportation industry, Andrea is passionate about delivering exceptional service and finding innovative solutions to meet our customers' needs.
Eubanks Promoted to MMT Terminal Manager
Brandon Eubanks was named our Missoula, Montana (MMT) terminal manager when it opened last month. Brandon joined Saia in 2011 as a dockworker and most recently, had been serving as our Portland, Oregon (PDX) outbound supervisor. He possesses a bachelor’s degree in business and culinary arts.
New Directors of Claims Prevention Named
Jeffrey Battle and Brett Henson have both been named our directors of claims prevention. Jeffery will oversee our claims prevention efforts in the East while Brett will manage these in the West.
In these roles, they will oversee all our claims prevention initiatives, developing and implementing strategies by monitoring trends and procedures. They will work to enhance our employee training programs to drive our “Customer First” core value and partner with senior management, operations, and the sales team to facilitate and champion a culture of quality.
With 32 years of industry experience, Jeffrey joined Saia in 2021 and served as the ATL regional claims prevention manager. He also has previous experience as a vice president of business development, regional and district sales manager, terminal and operations manager, linehaul coordinator, and in various supervisory roles.
Brett joined Saia in 2022 and had been serving as the KCY regional claims prevention manager. He has 26 years of industry experience and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Philadelphia and Trenton Terminal Management Updates
Earlier this year, Thomas Nakopoulos accepted the position of manager for our new Trenton, New Jersey (TNJ) terminal. Tom joined Saia in 2018 and served as the terminal manager for our Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (PHI) facility, adding to his 28 years of transportation experience.
With Tom’s move to TNJ, Sean McKittrick accepted the manager’s position for the PHI terminal. Sean joined Saia in 2023 as the assistant terminal manager for the facility. He brings 24 years of LTL experience to the role.
Stadel Joins Saia as HR Business Partner
In March, Dylan Stadel joined Saia as a HR business partner. Dylan is based out of the ACO, where he will serve as the HR partner to Executive Vice President and CCO Ray Ramu and Vice President of Real Estate Cris Burgum and their respective leadership teams. He will provide HR thought leadership, guidance, strategic and tactical support with a focus on organization capability, team effectiveness and overall business success. He will lead in areas such as performance management, succession planning, employee engagement improvement, talent development, effective and efficient hiring, and continuous improvement of the overall employee and leader experience.
Dylan brings a wealth of experiences and capabilities to Saia. Most recently, he served as a senior HR business partner at Honeywell where he led numerous HR programs focused on improving employee experience, developing leadership capabilities, and improving business outcomes. Prior to this role, Dylan held multiple HR positions of increasing complexity at Honeywell, supporting multiple lines of business across different geographies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics, an MBA, and a master’s degree in HR from Utah State University.
Wilson Named 3PL National Account Executive
Joe Wilson has been named our new 3PL national account executive. In this role, he will be responsible for our company growth strategies with our 3PL partners in the Southwest.
Joe has been with Saia since 2007 and has helped grow our New Orleans and Memphis markets. Through multiple “Best-in-Class” and President’s Club wins, he has been promoted from account executive to business development executive, leading Saia’s strategic growth initiatives. Joe is a graduate of the University of Tennessee.
